One of the top leaders of the infamous Nazi Party in Germany, Paul Joseph Goebbels officially served as the party’s chief propagandist. As a reward for his success, he later served as Hitler’s propaganda minister from 1933 to 1945. Goebbels would say that when a lie is circulated 10 times, people begin to accept it as true. The Goebbels formula still exists even after the fall of Hitler and his followers.
Ziaur Rahman, who founded BNP in the cantonment, adopted the Goebbels theory while studying at an army college in Pakistan. He made full use of this learning in his later political life. Zia made every effort to erase the history of the great Liberation War, Bangabandhu’s political life and name, and even copies of his speech. He even rehabilitated the infamous war criminals Razakar, Al-Badr, and Al-Shams leaders and gave them chance to participate in politics, writing a false history to new generations.
Before the Awami League came to power in 1996, the textbooks had called the Pakistani forces, which cracked down on Bangladesh, as only ‘aggressors’. They even did not use the name Pakistan, lest children and teenagers know the true face of Pakistan. Bangabandhu’s name and his political life were completely omitted from there. The pro-Pakistanis wrote a false and distorted history of Bangladesh. The BNP has continued with the Nazi Goebbels formula. The party leaders are using Zia’s teachings in every means.
Like Nazi forces, BNP killed 26,000 Awami League leaders and activists and tortured millions of minorities as Ziaur Rahman and later Khaleda Zia took the role of Hitler. Senior Joint Secretary-General of the party Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed and Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir are currently serving as the top propagandists of that force.
Meanwhile, Rizvi has earned a lot of fame in the BNP for he can shout sensationalizing things in literarily words. With no place at his home, he has been in a luxurious room in the party office for years and come up with a bizarre theory about the 2018 election. After observing the election all day, when Rizvi realized that the ruins of the BNP could not be found in any polling stations, he appeared before the media with a written statement sent from London. Suddenly he alleged that Awami League did the voting at night before the date! His statement stunned the whole country!
If the vote was done at night, why the BNP did not present the information and evidence in front of the media overnight? Why did Rizvi remember it in the evening after participating in the voting all day? Just like the deranged heroine of Bengali cinema gets her lost memory by banging her head on the wall, did Rizvi regain consciousness after hitting the wall on the stairs of the BNP office?
Why did BNP not been able to produce a still image or video of any such incident taking place at night in at least one polling station in the country to date? Rizvi alleged that the Awami League candidates occupied the centre and sealed all the ballots. If BNP is sure, then why there is no picture or video of ballot stuffing? But there is no answer to such a question. Moreover, there are hundreds of pro-BNP-Jamaat newspapers and mobile journalists scattered all over the country, but they have not been able to show any evidence in favour of Ruhul Kabir Rizvi’s bizarre theory.
However, this fairy tale became popular overnight due to the massive propaganda of the anti-liberation clique. There is no solid evidence for Goebbels’s propaganda.
BNP, which destroyed the electoral system by voting yes/no, realized their defeat beforehand and tried to raise the question about the 2018 election. But they also know that even if their party men believe in these falsehoods, these will remain unsubstantiated.
If there is any untoward incident during the election or any incident like the closing of the polling centre, we have to get this information from media and returning officers. Even on election day, we were observing various media all day. We saw that the election was fair, there was no problem anywhere.
He further said that the EC abides by the law, when any complaint arises, we investigate it and action is taken as such. If a presiding officer immediately informs us that there is a problem or if we get news from somewhere else that there is irregularity, then we too may put the voting on hold. By law, when the Returning Officer submits the result of an election to us, we gazette it. If not, the aggrieved candidate will lodge a written complaint.
In addition, the aggrieved person can approach the court within 30 days of the publication of the gazette. Apart from this, the Election Commission has nothing to do then. But in the 11th Parliamentary Election, not a single person complained to the Election Commission or the court about this, nor did he seek any remedy.
If someone complained, if the court had given an order, there would have been an investigation, maybe something would have come out, and if it had come out, the election would have been postponed. Maybe elections would have been postponed all over the country or in some areas. They know very well why no political party complained or took action then.
Now it is clear that BNP did not approach the court as the party would not be able to present any evidence. The neo-Nazi party BNP has chosen the Goebbels formula for establishing this theory through propaganda verbally.
Phone conversations of many BNP leaders including Moudud Ahmed, Barkatullah Bulu, and Zainul Abedin Farroque with instructions of violence and sabotage were leaked at that time. In Noakhali, even the video footage of the armed attack by the BNP leader to capture the polling centre was widely circulated then.
So it is the jurisdiction of the nation to consider – who repeatedly deprived the people of Bangladesh of the right to vote? So, there is no alternative to resist the neo-Nazi BNP, the enemy of democracy.
