While Bangladesh bears the brunt of sheltering around 1 million refugees for over five years, the USA conveniently overlooked cries to push back 1.5 million refugees and migrants at the US-Mexico border.
The world did nothing in response to Bangladesh’s continuous call for the safe repatriation of Rohingyas.
The statistics of killing people by US police are also horrendous. In 2021, at least 1055 lives perished at the hands of police using firearms, an alarming rise from the previous year. Recent trend shows Black lives are more vulnerable to police use of lethal weapons. Moreover, USA’s history in Guantanamo Bay is widely known.
In contrast, Bangladesh stands as a generous host for 1 million refugees, coupled with it’s battle to keep radicalism at bay is real, and measurable.
This survey seeks to find how people of this green delta perceive every time the US sermonizes Bangladesh on rights issues. After participating in the survey, please comment from your Facebook ID below to share your thoughts.
